OTR (Off the Record Bristol) is a mental health social movement by and for young people, reaching over 13,000 young people each year across Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset. The charity is at an exciting stage of its organisational growth and is looking to expand its creative and diverse mental health and wellbeing info and support to young people and their networks.

We offer voluntary opportunities for both qualified and student practitioners to offer 1:1 work with young people. You can expect to play a full part in the OTR experience for young people so you will need to be able to commit to at least five hours per week.

Please note, this is a competitive process and you will at least need to be in the third/final year of a recognised professional qualification. Experience working directly with young people in a related capacity is also an advantage. We provide regular in-house multi-disciplinary group supervision as well as training and expenses.

We also accommodate other placement roles, including Health and Social Care students, Psychology students and Youth Workers. Please let us what you are studying, the hours per week you need to volunteer for your placement, and any other requirements. 

Here at OTR we really do embrace diversity, so we’re less interested in your theoretical orientation than your ability to build relationships with young people. All our volunteers work within our city centre service, which runs six days a week and offers brief interventions.
