We're seeking 2 skilled and enthusiastic people from a range of backgrounds and communities to join our Board of Trustees.

We are particularly wanting to attract people from Global Majority and other marginalised groups. Previous experience of being a Trustee is not required as training and support will be provided.

Off the Record Bristol (OTR) is a mental health social movement by and for young people. The charity is at an exciting stage of its organisational growth and proud to be reaching thousands of young people across Bristol, South Gloucestershire, and North Somerset. We offer a range of innovative mental health and wellbeing services and support.

We're particularly keen to hear from candidates with any of the following skills or experience:

  • HR and Change
  • Fundraising
  • Equity, Diversity & Inclusion strategy and practice
  • Connections to businesses in the Southwest
  • Lived experience of mental health conditions
  • Work with young people from diverse backgrounds

Alongside your skillset and background, you’ll possess the ability to apply sound judgement and make credible decisions as part of a team of like-minded colleagues. Most importantly, we’re looking for Trustees who have a real commitment to empowering young people to have a voice in improving their mental health services.

The position of Trustee is for an initial term of three years, with the potential to extend for subsequent terms. The Board meets in person every quarter in Bristol, with on-line meetings for Trustees only in the month in between. We also aim to have 2 development sessions per year for trustees with the senior leadership team for OTR. This has been crucial in developing our shared vision and commitment to the values of OTR.
